Tealand Engineering & Construction Limited commenced trading in 1978. Its initial specialization was in tea machinery repairs and refurbishments with routine maintenance works. Since then, the company has grown to be a principle supplier of machinery to all major tea factories in the East Africa region.
With customers from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda, Tealand has supplied bespoke machinery and solutions to many tea and other factories.
Tealand has now diversified to installing automated machinery, civil works, consultancy, green energy solutions and complete turn key projects, from feasibility phase to design to construction and finally commissioning.
Tealand is one of the leading firms in East Africa offering solutions to tea industry on automation.

Meet Our Team
LATE MR GURDIAL SINGH HUNJAN (2004)

Mr Gurdial Singh Hunjan came in 1927 from India and settled in Nakuru initially. He later joined a gold mine in Kakamega before finally joining Brooke Bond (now Unilever) in 1937. At Brooke Bond, he was in charge of all electrical engineering. He was in charge of installing the Kerenga, Kimugu and Jamji power houses, which are still operational to date.
MR DIDAR SINGH HUNJAN

With a career spanning over 50 years, few can rival his experience andexpertise within general and mechanical engineering. He started off with Brooke Bond (K) Ltd in 1960 - 1978 and was based in Kerenga as general engineer dealing with maintenance of turbines at power houses, before being promoted to chief artisan in charge of 4 factories. He has vast experience in tea industry and was the founder of what is now famously know as TEALAND brand.
MR KIRPAL SINGH HUNJAN

Starting as senior workshop artisan with Brooke Bond (K) Ltd in 1968 – 1980. Mr Kirpal is an experienced welder and fitter and specializes in steam installations. He has over 50 years’ experience in tea industry.
MR PARMINDER SINGH HUNJAN

Graduated from Coventry University in Computer and Control Systems and Masters in Robotics and Automation. Parminder has nearly 10 years of experience as operations manager with MoD in UK, and is currently in charge of all operations within Tealand Engineering.
